Gerard Bodifée (°1946, Belgium) holds a PhD in science from the University of Brussels. He specialised in astrophysics, conducting scientific research into the origin of stars and the evolution of galaxies.
His interest is primarily focused on the fundamental scientific and philosophical questions of man. What is the origin and goal of existence? What is the position of man in the whole of reality? What is the relationship between science and religion?
After a career in industry and education, Bodifée became director of the National Planetarium of Belgium. Since then he has concentrated on writing and lecturing in Belgium and abroad. He founded the ‘House for Philosophy’, and teaches about the foundations of our culture in Greece, linking the origins of philosophy to modern science. He has published some twenty books, venturing into the field where science, philosophy and religion overlap.

Making Meaning
۞ Gerard Bodifée talks about humans as meaning making beings.
- Do we as human beings find meaning in the cosmos by taking a religious approach to it?
- The Now is eternal. Is that right?
- Science often denies that the Kosmos has brought us forth as meaning-making beings. The fact that we are able to do this emerges from the very cosmos that they are studying. Is that right?
