Douwe Nutterts 0104
Question: You have mentioned both vajrayana and Trungpa Rinpoche... are you influenced by certain contemplative traditions?
Nutterts: Oh definitely! I am very much influenced by the Buddhist contemplative traditions. Especially vajrayana. I think in my heart I am a Buddhist. So I always say: I have a Buddhist heart. And this is a very key part of it. I have influences from the Sufi tradition also, Advaita Vedanta, that’s part of it, and I have definitely been influenced by the work of Almaas and Faisal Mukkadan, and the Work of Essence, so it actually comes from many traditions, that all have a very contemplative approach. And in many ways I am oriented to a more tantric approach, where it is not really about transcendence, but about moving through things and being able to embrace them.
